Illustration for Halloween is about to arrive at Disneyland Resort — with plenty of summer still left on the calendar.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort begins August 21 and continues through October 31, bringing seasonal entertainment, decorations, food and attraction experiences back to the California parks.

The resort's Halloween calendar actually begins several days earlier. Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party starts its 2026 run on August 18 at Disney California Adventure Park.

Together, the events make Disneyland another major destination launching its Halloween season well before the traditional arrival of fall.

Halloween Time transforms areas of the resort with seasonal decorations and entertainment while familiar attractions receive their annual Halloween changes.

The season also extends heavily into food and merchandise. Disney has already begun releasing details of its 2026 Halloween offerings, giving visitors another reason to treat the beginning of the season as an event in itself rather than simply preparation for October 31.

The increasingly early start reflects a larger change occurring throughout Halloween culture.

Theme parks, retailers and attractions are no longer waiting for September or October to begin their biggest seasonal programs. Major Halloween events now routinely open during August, effectively creating a spooky season that can stretch for more than two months.

For Disneyland, that extended season includes both daytime Halloween experiences and separately ticketed nights built specifically around the holiday.

And once Halloween begins, Christmas isn't far behind.

For now, however, pumpkins get the park.

Oogie Boogie Bash begins August 18, followed by the official start of Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort on August 21.

Both continue into the 2026 Halloween season.
