This page explains how information is used on Ghost Signal Radio and its Signal Agent application service.
Messages and submissions
When you contact us or submit a story, attraction or artwork, we save the details you enter and any files you send. GSR staff use them to review your request, check information and reply. We send email confirmations and staff notifications.
Contact messages are not posted publicly. Submissions enter a private review queue. Approved stories, artwork, attraction details and creator credits may be published. Audio sent by email may be considered for broadcast. Sending material does not guarantee publication. Share only material you have permission to send.
Signal Agent applications
We collect your name, email, location, experience, availability, interests and other application answers. GSR uses these to review your application and contact you about participation. Applications are for people aged 18 or older and are stored in GSR’s separate Signal Agent service.
Newsletter email
Signing up saves your email and subscription status so we can send GSR updates. Contacting us or submitting material does not by itself sign you up. Use Email Preferences / Unsubscribe to stop newsletter updates. We keep an unsubscribed status to avoid sending further updates. Unsubscribing does not delete other submissions or stop replies about them.
Services that handle information
GSR uses DigitalOcean for website hosting, records and uploaded files; Cloudflare for the Signal Agent service; Resend for website emails; and Google email services for staff messages. These services process information needed to provide those functions.
Analytics, browser storage and location
This site loads Google Analytics to measure visits and page use. Google may receive page addresses, browser and device information and use cookies. Page addresses can include your search terms.
Your browser saves radio preferences. The contact form also saves a request identifier and message fingerprint in session storage to prevent duplicate sends; it does not save the message text there.
If you choose Use my location and allow browser access, your coordinates are sent to the site to find nearby places. They appear in the results URL and may be included in browser history, analytics or server logs. You can search by city or ZIP instead. Maps load tiles from OpenStreetMap; playing embedded videos connects to their video provider. Those services receive connection information such as your IP address.
My Night saves the public places and events you choose in GSR’s database, associated with a random browser cookie that lasts 90 days. No account is required. Removing a stop updates your saved plan. Share links contain the selected public stops; anyone with the link can view them. Expiring the cookie does not automatically delete the saved database record.
Keeping information and asking for help
The website does not currently offer automatic expiry or a self-service deletion tool for submitted records. To ask about your information, request a correction or request removal, email [email protected]. Include the reference number if you have one. Staff may need to confirm that the request is yours. Unsubscribing alone is not a deletion request.
External websites, ticket sellers and video services have their own privacy practices when you visit or use them.
