Credit: Jenna Gable and Camillo Kearns.SAN FRANCISCO — Terror Vault returns to the San Francisco Mint October 1 with SLASHED – Return to Hellville, an immersive haunted experience inspired by the slasher films of the 1980s. The production runs through November 1, 2026.
The fictional story places visitors inside an investigation after a true-crime podcast host disappears while researching a new series of killings. Guests follow clues into the abandoned town of Shellville and its Fear Clinic, encountering characters and set pieces while trying to stop the threat. The murders and investigation are part of the attraction’s narrative.
Creators Joshua Grannell, also known as Peaches Christ, and David Flower describe the production as a tribute to the decade’s horror filmmaking, with its design, costumes, music and audience participation built around that influence.
A separate VIP experience, the Wainwright Family Carnival, adds an immersive pre-show, interactive settings and additional story material. A souvenir cup is included with the VIP ticket, but cocktails are not.
Fang Bang, a New Wave and goth-inspired vampire bar, and the CreepShop retail space will also operate at the Mint. The announcement says a SLASHED ticket is not required to visit those spaces during show operating hours.
The venue is at 88 Fifth Street. Guests must be 18 or older and present valid identification. The release lists tickets at $60–$80 depending on date and time, with timed entries every 15 minutes for groups of up to 12. Lights-on behind-the-scenes tours are also announced for November 7–8.
